Buffalo Plaid Hot Process Soap - Cedar, Pine, Tobacco, Leather, Coffee... Limited Edition
Buffalo Plaid Hot Process Soap
A quiet, competent blend of cedar & pine, tobacco, classic aftershave, worn leather, & bitter eggshell coffee
At the bottom of the garden, hidden in the trees, stands an old wooden shed. You find him there most days, pottering around in solitude amongst jumbled stacks of fragrant wood. You can stay, but you have to be quiet & keep out of the way, & be ready to hold a chisel or pass a tin of putty. The floor of the shed is littered with wood shavings, piles of which get fed into the tiny stove when the November chill sets in & the dented percolator needs topping up. He doesn't speak for hours on end, but grunts approvingly when you show him your first wobbly attempts with a borrowed whittling knife. Years later, you find your wonky little carved fox, lovingly stained & varnished, perched on the sill of the sooty shed window.
This listing is for one (1) enormous 5-ounce bar of hot process soap, made from scratch by me in my own workshop. If you find glycerin soaps a bit too drying, this is the bar for you. I've spent several months developing a coconut- & shea-free, vegan formula that lathers beautifully & is packed with nourishing vegetable oils & butters. I make my hot process soap in small batches, & allow each batch to cure for 3 weeks to ensure a firm, mild bar. Each hand-cut bar measures 3x3x1 inches, & weighs approximately 5 ounces.
As always, your soap will arrive hand-wrapped, with all ingredients clearly labeled for your peace of mind:
Water, Olive Oil, Organic & Sustainable Palm Oil, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Mango Seed Butter, Castor Oil, Organic Palm Kernel Oil, Avocado Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Fragrance Oil, Coffee, Activated Charcoal, Organic Gluten-free Oats, Maple Syrup
Since I work in small batches, you may notice slight variations in color from bar to bar. Hot process soap has a marbled, natural appearance. Streaks, swirls & blobs are all part of the charm, & in no way affect the quality of your soap :)

Manly, but not too...

I'm a sucker for any of Paintbox's more manly scents - bring the tobacco, musk and hemp, I am all in. This one leaves a light scent of earth and tobacco on the skin - love it!
