Clean Slate Facial Bar and Emulsifying Facial Scrub - buy both and SAVE!
Do it clean! Activated charcoal & a blend of tea tree, clary sage, peppermint, lime & lavender essential oils Prone to oily skin & breakouts? Tired of stripping your skin red & raw with harsh cleansers? Clean Slate is stuffed full of ingredients that will make your face happy! My nourishing, coconut-free formulas get all mixed up with activated charcoal & a green, herby blend of essential oils to gently but thoroughly clean even the oiliest of skin. A healthy drizzle of skin-friendly oils ensure that you aren't left feeling like you got scraped with a wire brush. I formulated Clean Slate mainly for facial care, but it's mild enough to use on your whole body.
This listing is for one (1) enormous 5-ounce bar of hot process soap AND a generous 5 ounces of emulsifying facial scrub, made from scratch by me in my own workshop. If you find glycerin soaps & commercial cleansers too drying, this is the set for you. I've spent several months developing a coconut- & shea-free, vegan formula that lathers beautifully & is packed with nourishing vegetable oils & butters. I make my hot process soap in small batches, & allow each batch to cure for 3 weeks to ensure a firm, mild bar. Each hand-cut bar measures 3x3x1 inches, & weighs approximately 5 ounces. As always, your soap will arrive hand-wrapped, with all ingredients clearly labeled for your peace of mind:
Water, Olive Oil, Organic & Sustainable Palm Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Mango Seed Butter, Castor Oil, Organic Palm Kernel Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil, Agave Nectar, Activated Charcoal, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Oil, Salvia sclarea (Clary Sage) Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint), Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil
Since I work in small batches, you may notice slight variations in color from bar to bar. Hot process soap has a marbled, natural appearance. Streaks, swirls & blobs are all part of the charm, & in no way affect the quality of your soap :) What the heck is hot process soap, anyway? Emulsifying Facial Scrub is a luxuriously soft, gentle sugar scrub, fortified with nourishing rice bran, grape seed, apricot kernel & jojoba oils. Massaged into wet skin, it emulsifies into a light, creamy lotion that gently cleanses, polishes & moisturizes, leaving you feeling deliciously soft & smelling wonderful :) I've adjusted this recipe from my usual Sorbetto formula, so you'll notice a much softer texture & more gentle cleansing. A little goes a long way, & I advocate scrubbing your face no more than 2-3x a week. In between, try my Clean Slate, Nihilist or Second Breakfast Hot Process bars. The full-size jar of Emulsifying Facial Scrub will last 2-3 months if used according to directions.
I pack Emulsifying Facial Scrub in a recyclable plastic jar, with all ingredients clearly labeled for your peace of mind: Sucrose (Sugar), Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sorbitol, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sodium Chloride (Salt), Phenoxyethanol & Tetrasodium EDTA (paraben-free preservatives), Activated Charcoal, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Oil, Salvia sclarea (Clary Sage) Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint), Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil
Since I work in small batches, you may notice slight variations in color from jar to jar. To prolong the life of your Emulsifying Facial Scrub, keep it tightly sealed & avoid introducing excess water to the jar. A clean plastic spoon is ideal for scooping out just the right amount :) Please use Emulsifying Facial Scrub within 3 months of opening, & discontinue use if irritation occurs. I specifically blend Emulsifying Facial Scrub not leave a greasy film, but it may leave your tub a bit slippery, so do be careful :)

I usually buy the Dark Angels face wash from Lush cosmetics, but a friend got me a gift certificate from Paintbox for Christmas. I decided to try the charcoal facial scrub and I love it. It smells a whole lot nicer than the Lush version, and it doesn't leave charcoal smudges on your face even after you rinse. It's nice and gentle, and did not make my sensitive skin break out. A definite win.
