Kattegat Shaving Soap - great 3-inch round!
Crisp, frost-tinged birch forests flanking snow-capped fjords with a curl of smoky dragon's blood
Cool & wild, Kattegat is an unexpectedly sexy blend. Fresh birch & traces of evergreen are anchored by vetiver & sweet resin, wreathed by a blizzard of mint & clear, cold ocean air. It's the scent of silent snowfall, patient hunters, & the hot blood of the gods...
This listing is for a generous 4-ounce round of my luxurious glycerin soap, fortified with ultrafine bentonite clay for a smooth, comfortable shave. I use a hefty, round mold that sits handsomely in a shaving bowl, or you can lather up with your hands. The end result? Huge, stable lather, great slip & delicious scents to get you soft, smooth & ready for action. I hand cast in small batches with no SLS, propylene glycol, parabens, animal products or other funny stuff! Most of my fragrances are phthalate-free, too. My bars produce gorgeous, abundant lather & have unique scents that cling gently to your skin. You'll be left feeling clean & smelling fantastic. I hand-wrap each bar in cellophane, with all ingredients clearly labeled for your peace of mind:
Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerin (kosher, of vegetable origin), Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Sorbitol (moisturizer), Sorbitan oleate (emulsifer), Soy bean protein (conditioner), Bentonite, Titanium Dioxide, Fragrance Oil, Hydrated Chromium Green Oxide
Since I work in small batches, you may notice slight variations in color from bar to bar. New to a good old fashioned wet shave? The guys at The Art of Manliness won't steer you wrong: http://artofmanliness.com/2008/01/04/how-to-shave-like-your-grandpa/
My legs don't feel like roadkill and I'm confused

In the past I haven't had a good experience with shaving soaps or creams (usually I resort to body wash or the old class of Only Ever Wearing Pants), but I'm glad I gave this a shot. Using this, I didn't have any of the usual problems I have with shaving soaps. The foam (applied with a shower poof) was nice and thick, easy to see where I'd already been, and I didn't have to use a ton of it to build a lather. The scent is nice and fresh and lingers a little if you get close, but not too much. Most importantly, my skin doesn't feel like it's been lovingly caressed by a cheese grater and then coated in a fine layer of rubbery soap residue even after three days in a row of shaving, when usually every other day is too much for me. I expect I could actually use this to shave every day without bleeding out. (If I weren't incredibly lazy and also well armed with a closet full of pants.)
Overall, this is an excellent product and I highly recommend it even for delicate jobs. Maybe especially for them.
