Nekisse Hot Process Soap - Ethiopian Coffee, Blueberry, Buttery Pastry... Coconut-Free Formula
Nekisse Hot Process Soap
Deep, rich Ethiopian coffee studded with ripe blueberries & buttery pastry crumbs
We are complete & utter coffee snobs in our household, thanks to the amazing folks at Square One Coffee in Lancaster, PA. Jess & Josh travel the world to find the most incredible fair-trade coffee beans, bring them back to PA, & roast them to perfection every time. Their staff is fantastic, their coffee delicious, & their passion infectious. Check them out at http://www.squareonecoffee.com/
Nekisse (the soap) is a direct homage to Nekisse (the coffee). You know those tasting notes on specialty coffee bags, the ones that say ridiculous things like "chewy, with notes of cherry, Meyer lemon & toffee"? With Square One Coffee, you REALLY TASTE THOSE THINGS. It's pretty amazing. Nekisse (the coffee) blew us away with its buttery, blueberry aroma & perfectly smooth acidity. (See? Coffee snobs.)
Nekisse (the soap) is made with freshly-brewed Square One coffee, & scented with a blend of dark coffee, sweet blueberry & vanilla pastry to echo the scent of the beans themselves. It's essentially the smell of a perfect coffee house breakfast, in soap form.
This listing is for one (1) generous 5-ounce bar of hot process soap, made from scratch by me in my own workshop. If you find glycerin soaps a bit too drying, this is the bar for you. I've spent several months developing a coconut- & shea-free, vegan formula that lathers beautifully & is packed with nourishing vegetable oils & butters. I make my hot process soap in small batches, & allow each batch to cure for 3 weeks to ensure a firm, mild bar. Each hand-cut bar measures 2.5x3x1 inches, & weighs approximately 4.5 ounces.
As always, your soap will arrive hand-wrapped in cellophane, with all ingredients clearly labeled for your peace of mind:
Coffea Arabica (Coffee), Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Mango Seed Butter, Castor Oil, Palm Kernel Oil, Avocado Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Fragrance Oil, Saccharum Officinarum (Molasses), Ultramarine Violet, Ultramarine Blue
Since I work in small batches, you may notice slight variations in color from bar to bar. Hot process soap has a marbled, natural appearance. Streaks, swirls & blobs are all part of the charm, & in no way affect the quality of your soap :)

I love this scent in the bar soap format (lotion and tarts smelled bitter and off to me), where I don't get so much bitter coffee and it smells more like a warm blueberry cake. The soap itself is moisturizing, but has some exfoliating/scrubby bits to it, and it just smells so good and comforting.
