Pokeberry Luxury Glycerin Soap

Deadly American nightshade berries crushed into a vivid magenta syrup with black cocoa, dry red wine, and a spicy strangle of leather

Since I was a little hedgewitch scrambling through the undergrowth, I have been fascinated by pokeweed. It is rampant here in Pennsylvania, in the weedy corners & roadside scrub, sending up lush green leaves almost overnight. The little white flowers are a pollinator's delight, but going to seed is when pokeweed puts its deadly glam on. Green stems turn an improbably brilliant magenta, and flower nodules swell from pale green buttons into the unforgettable berries. Pokeberries are glossy purple, almost black, plump, shiny, and begging to be crushed despite their toxic nature. Pokeberry the blend is an imagined deadly draught, a nightshade-purple syrup of wine, bitter chocolate, raw leather, and irresistible berries staining fingers & lips before Death's hand closes tight around your neck. CAUTION: Pokeberry the scent is a tantalizing gourmand, but actual pokeberries (and all parts of the plant itself) are VERY POISONOUS. Do not consume pokeweed in any form.

This listing is for a huge 6 ounce bar of luxurious glycerin soap, hand cast in small batches with no SLS, propylene glycol, parabens, animal products or other funny stuff! Most of my fragrances are phthalate-free, too!
