Product Description
Clean Slate Emulsifying Facial Scrub
Do it clean! Activated charcoal & a blend of tea tree, clary sage, peppermint, lime & lavender essential oils
Prone to oily skin & breakouts? Tired of stripping your skin red & raw with harsh cleansers? Clean Slate is stuffed full of ingredients that will make your face happy! My nourishing, coconut-free Sorbetto formula gets all mixed up with activated charcoal & a green, herby blend of essential oils to gently but thoroughly clean even the oiliest of skin. A healthy drizzle of skin-friendly oils ensure that you aren't left feeling like you got scraped with a wire brush. I formulated Clean Slate mainly as a facial scrub, but it's mild enough to use on your whole body.
Emulsifying Facial Scrub is a luxuriously soft, gentle sugar scrub, fortified with nourishing rice bran, grape seed, apricot kernel & jojoba oils. Massaged into wet skin, it emulsifies into a light, creamy lotion that gently cleanses, polishes & moisturizes, leaving you feeling deliciously soft & smelling wonderful :) I've adjusted this recipe from my usual Sorbetto formula, so you'll notice a much softer texture & more gentle cleansing. A little goes a long way, & I advocate scrubbing your face no more than 2-3x a week. In between, try my Clean Slate, Nihilist or Second Breakfast Hot Process bars. The full-size jar of Emulsifying Facial Scrub will last 2-3 months if used according to directions.
This listing is for a generous 5 ounces of emulsifying facial scrub, blended by hand in small batches with no SLS/SLES, parabens, propylene glycol, -cones, animal products, coconut oil or shea butter (for my sensitive customers). I don't whip my scrubs, so you get a jar packed with product, not air. I pack Emulsifying Facial Scrub in a recyclable plastic jar, with all ingredients clearly labeled for your peace of mind:
Sucrose (Sugar), Glycerin, Aqua (Water), Sorbitol, Sodium Cocoyl/Lauroyl Isethionate, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sodium Chloride (Salt), Levulinic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Activated Charcoal, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Oil, Salvia sclarea (Clary Sage) Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint), Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil
Since I work in small batches, you may notice slight variations in color from jar to jar. To prolong the life of your Emulsifying Facial Scrub, keep it tightly sealed & avoid introducing excess water to the jar. A clean plastic spoon is ideal for scooping out just the right amount :) Please use Emulsifying Facial Scrub within 3 months of opening, & discontinue use if irritation occurs. I specifically blend Emulsifying Facial Scrub not leave a greasy film, but it may leave your tub a bit slippery, so do be careful.

Gentle Reset
Posted by Lauren on Aug 25th 2020
Does "rough and gentle" make sense? Clean slate is just rough enough to feel reeeeeeeally good. After I slather it on and scrub with my hands, a wash cloth finishes the job gently. My skin feels refreshed and reset. Not sore, not dry, not oily. Just perfect.

My Go-To Deep Cleaner

This is one of the best things I've ever put on my face! The scrub does a great job of cleaning my oily, acne-prone skin without overstripping it. Plus, it smells good!

My daughter-in-law and I have tried many facial scrubs and this is by far the best. Really help rid blackheads and my rosacea.

Squeaky Clean!
Posted by Shannon on Nov 11th 2019
This is an effective face scrub I use a two or three times per week. Only a tiny bit is needed, so it's a value as well. Due to hair loss, I shave my head, and also use it on my scalp at the same time. I love its clean and soothing scent. My skin is fairly sensitive and this scrub does not irritate at all.

Refreshing and makes my skin happy
Posted by Tiffany on Feb 25th 2019
I really like the refreshing smell of this, and it controls my break outs really well. I follow it up with a bit of the Nihilist lotion - the only lotion I've used that doesn't feel greasy on my face.

Clean Slate emulsifying is a simple way to smooth skin. It is especially helpful in the winter.

LOVE

Until I met my wife, I had really had no concept about proper skin care. She introduced me to this magic...and wow. I love how it has helped my complexion and I've added it into my standard list of items. Anytime I'm out and I've ventured to something else to try...I break out. No more. Clean Slate is in my life and it shall stay. This scrub smells great, feels great, and helps me look great. This bearded man, absolutely loves this product. THANK YOU!!!

Manages my middle-aged skin beautifully
Posted by Unknown on Mar 28th 2016
I'm very pleased with Clean Slate -- I accidentally bought two samples, and now I've bought a full-sized jar. I use it on my whole face, and then use a moisturizing scrub (Buttercup) on the dryer parts. When I remember to use it (I'm not used to skin-care regimens yet; I certainly didn't do anything when I was younger), it keeps my skin's tendency to break out under control. Plus it smells great and the scent doesn't linger (lingering scents are a dealbreaker for me and a product, as they usually give me asthma attacks).
