We lost a good one this year. Sara was a ten-gallon superstar who lit up the world with her sharp wit, Baltimore snark, & capacity to make you feel like the most important person in the room. She kept punching, fighting till the end, & we are all better humans for her love & friendship, her generous heart & her honesty. 

A few months before she passed, Sara sent me a picture of a near-empty, long-defunct perfume oil & asked if I thought I could recreate it. For her, I would work minor miracles, even reproducing a fragrance I never got the chance to smell.

Haymaker is punchy, juicy & sweet, full of tart guava & Sara's favorite Figs in Honey, with big blowsy pink roses & a sunny, almost cottony amber musk. It's a big-hearted & beautiful blend, full of laughter & love & the light that Sara brought to everyone who knew her. Wear it and hug your people, & tell them that you love them.

To use as a hair oil, roll lightly into the palm of your hand, then apply with your hands or fingers as desired. For best results, concentrate on the ends of your hair, rather than the scalp.

To use as a perfume oil, apply directly to pulse points, taking care to avoid irritated, broken, or inflamed skin. I always recommend testing a small amount on the inside of your elbow before committing to a full slathering.
